Mexico Foodie Tours runs private tours across Oaxaca — from mezcal tastings at family-run palenques to cooking classes with UNESCO-recognized cooks and visits to Zapotec artisan workshops. Every tour is private for your group.
As a socially responsible tour operator, we work directly with traditional cooks, mezcal producers, and artisan families across the region, so every private tour also supports the communities that keep Oaxaca’s living heritage alive.
Every Oaxaca tour is private for your group. Most run 6 to 8 hours, as a half-day or full-day experience, and many take place in the Central Valleys — Teotitlán del Valle, Santiago Matatlán, San Agustín Etla — a short drive from Oaxaca City.
Meeting points, and what’s included in terms of guide and transport, vary by tour. Full details are always on each tour’s page.
Private tours work well for families traveling with kids, couples looking for a quieter pace, small groups of friends, and travelers with dietary needs that are easier to manage outside a larger group.
If you’re planning something for a team or a client event instead, take a look at our corporate culinary experiences, designed for team-building, client events and incentive trips.
Mexico Foodie Tours is a socially responsible operator. We work directly with traditional cooks, mezcal producers and artisan families across Oaxaca’s Central Valleys, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We also created the Círculos de Sabor program — every booking supports their work and helps keep Mexican culinary heritage alive.
